FAQs

What are your hours of operation?

I am only able to meet with patients by appointment. However, I do try to be flexible to meet my client’s needs. In general, appointments are scheduled as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7am - 2pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 10am - 5pm

Do you offer in-office appointments?

I offer both telehealth appointments and in-office appointments. Telehealth appointments take place over a secure, HIPPA compliant video call service. In-office appointments are located at 4914 Radford Avenue, Suite 204, Richmond, VA 23230. The building has its own parking lot and is ADA compliant.

What can I expect from my appointment?

Initial visits are 60-90 minutes long. Follow ups are generally 25-55 minutes. Frequency is tailored to the individual needs and preferences. We talk about overall mental health progress, goals, life events, and anything on your mind.

Can I pay out of pocket?

Yes, you can pay out of pocket if I do not have a contract with your insurance provider. The out of pocket costs are:

  1. Initial Visit (60-90 minutes)-$300

  2. Follow Up (25 minutes)-$150

  3. Follow up (55 minutes)-$250

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

I do, if it is clinically indicated. I only provide a 30 day supply at a time and to a pharmacy within the state that I practice (Virginia).

What is a nurse practitioner?

Nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced-practice nurses who begin as registered nurses and pursue education at the Master's or Doctoral level. After passing board exams, NPs are trained to evaluate, diagnose, prescribe medications, perform procedures, and interpret bloodwork, among other tasks. While some NPs require physician supervision, I practice autonomously but deeply value the expertise of psychiatrists and other physicians, seeking consultation when needed.

Do you have a supervising physician?

I have autonomous practice, meaning I have practiced long enough to no longer require physician supervision. However, I believe that the best patient care results from collaboration among healthcare providers. I regularly consult with other Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and meet twice a month with a Psychiatrist to consult on cases.
